Research

Pain and disease begin when injury or another condition causes damage to the circulation, allowing the escape of significant quantities of blood proteins into the affected area. This crowding of the proteins attracts fluid (inflammation), causes pain, and deprives some of the cells in the area of proper oxygen and nutrients, resulting in poor cellular functioning and inhibiting healing. These malfunctioning cells, if not carried away and disposed of by the lymphatic system, begin to destroy healthy cells.

Physicist Dr. Buryl Payne, former Professor at Boston University, cites just some of the specific factors now known to be involved in magnetic healing:

* Increased blood flow with resulting increased oxygen-carrying capacity,( both of which are basic to helping the body eliminate toxins and begin to heal itself)

* Changes in migration of calcium ions which can either bring calcium ions to heal a broken bone in half the usual time, or can help move calcium from painful, arthritic joint;

* The PH balance (acid/alkaline) of various body fluids (often out of balance in conjunction with illness or abnormal conditions) apparently can be altered by magnetic fields;

* Altering of enzyme activity, hormone production from the endocrine glands and other biochemical processes.

Until recently there had been little research into the effect of a magnetic field in relation to the body's pH (or acid/alkaline) level. However in the late 1990's MVDr Vladislav Vaclavek published his findings regarding the importance of magnets in maintaining a proper pH level in the body. MVDr Vaclavek maintains that much of the bodies stress, inflammation and pain comes from a buildup in lactic acid in the body. His studies show that the application of an external magnetic field can provide the stimulus to reduce the level of lactic acid.
